The ideal candidate will drive improvements in inventory accuracy, material availability, production efficiency, and cost optimization while collaborating across engineering, procurement, production, and logistics teams.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring the right materials are available in the right quantities at the right time to support on-time delivery and operational excellence in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

MRP Planning & Execution

Analyze, maintain, and improve MRP master data such as bills of material (BOMs), item master parameters, lead times, lot sizes, safety stock levels, and reorder points.

Monitor daily MRP outputs, prioritize action messages, and coordinate with buyers and production schedulers to ensure timely material availability.

Define and maintain planning horizons, freeze periods, and MRP run frequencies aligned with business and production requirements.

Lead root cause analysis for material shortages, excess inventory, and planning-related production disruptions; implement corrective and preventive actions.

ERP & Systems Management (SAP)

Serve as a key functional user for SAP-based MRP, material control, procurement, and inventory processes.

Configure and maintain MRP parameters including planning strategies, order policies, lead times, safety stock, and planner/buyer assignments.

Execute and manage MRP runs in SAP, analyze planning exceptions, and coordinate resolution of system-generated action messages.

Support ERP enhancements, system integrations, data migrations, and testing activities in collaboration with IT and ERP administrators.

Train and mentor junior planners on MRP concepts, SAP transactions, and best practices.

Data Analysis & Reporting

Develop and maintain advanced Excel-based models for demand forecasting, capacity analysis, inventory optimization, and KPI tracking.

Create and maintain standard and ad-hoc reports using SAP reporting tools and custom queries.

Provide regular reporting to leadership on key supply chain metrics such as inventory turns, service levels, schedule attainment, and planning accuracy.

Use data-driven insights to identify trends, forecast variability, and recommend adjustments to planning parameters and strategies.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field with 5+ years of progressive experience in production planning, materials management, or supply chain operations

OR Master's degree with 3+ years of related experience

OR 9+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree

Hands-on experience using SAP ERP in a production environment, including MRP, purchasing, and inventory management modules

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and make data-informed decisions

Preferred Qualifications

APICS CPIM or CSCP certification

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, Power Query, macros/VBA) and PowerPoint

Hands-on experience with SAP PP and/or MM modules

Experience supporting high-mix, high-volume manufacturing environments

Exposure to demand planning tools and statistical forecasting techniques
