About the Role

We are seeking an experienced IT Site Ops Senior Technician to support enterprise IT infrastructure across offices, network equipment rooms (NERs), and laboratory environments in Santa Clara, CA. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with network room operations, structured cabling, Layer 1 troubleshooting, server hardware, and low-voltage infrastructure deployments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and troubleshoot IT infrastructure across offices, labs, and network equipment rooms.

  • Perform Layer 1 network troubleshooting involving copper and fiber-optic cabling, patch panels, connectors, transceivers, and connectivity issues.

  • Install, rack, stack, cable, and maintain servers, switches, storage equipment, UPS systems, and smart PDUs.

  • Inspect network rooms, maintain cable organization, verify equipment connectivity, and update infrastructure inventories.

  • Coordinate with facilities teams, network engineers, vendors, and low-voltage contractors during construction and infrastructure deployment projects.

  • Review cabling layouts, equipment placement, bills of materials (BOMs), and infrastructure documentation.

  • Track network ports, fiber capacity, rack space, and power availability.

  • Maintain documentation using NetBox, Nautobot, or similar asset management tools.

  • Support preventive maintenance, infrastructure audits, power shutdown events, and incident resolution.

Required Qualifications

  • 4–7+ years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, network room operations, data center operations, telecommunications, or structured cabling.

  • Strong knowledge of copper and fiber-optic cabling, patch panels, rack layouts, and physical network connectivity.

  • Experience troubleshooting Layer 1 issues and using fiber-testing equipment such as OTDRs and optical power meters.

  • Hands-on experience installing and troubleshooting servers, switches, rack-mounted equipment, UPS systems, or PDUs.

  • Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, network connectivity, and enterprise infrastructure.

  • Experience with infrastructure documentation, asset inventory, and ticketing tools such as NetBox, Nautobot, ServiceNow, or Jira.

  • Ability to work independently, coordinate with vendors, and communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical teams.

  • Must be comfortable working 100% onsite in Santa Clara, CA and performing hands-on work in network rooms and labs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BICSI Installer 2 or Technician certification.

  • Experience with low-voltage construction projects, infrastructure buildouts, and contractor oversight.

  • Familiarity with enterprise campus networking, DCIM/CMDB tools, and large-scale technology environments.
