**Company Overview:**
Our client, a leader in data management solutions, is preparing for a significant project to migrate on-premises DB2 databases to a cloud-based infrastructure. Leveraging AWS technologies, the company aims to enhance data accessibility and efficiency, preparing for future data consumption needs.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design and implement the target architecture for migrating from DB2 to AWS PostgreSQL and then to AWS MongoDB.
- Build and operate data pipelines using Precisely and Kafka, ensuring efficient change data capture (CDC) and error handling mechanisms.
- Define and implement transformation rules to convert raw relational data into structured MongoDB documents suitable for downstream applications.
- Create and optimize MongoDB collections, indexes, and partitioning strategies while managing TTL and data retention policies.
- Collaborate with application teams on optimizing query patterns, establishing SLAs, and facilitating schema evolution.
**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
- 6-9 years of experience with database design and tuning, specifically with DB2, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
- Proficiency in Kafka streaming, CDC, and replication, with a preference for experience using Precisely.
- Strong foundation in AWS services, including knowledge of networking, IAM, encryption, and monitoring for production environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to ensure data quality and security controls.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for partnership with development teams to achieve project success.
