Senior IAM Business Analyst (Identity Modernization)
We are seeking an experienced Senior IAM Business Analyst to drive discovery, business requirements gathering, and operational workflow design for our enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) modernization program. Partnering closely with our IAM Solution Architect and application business owners, you will lead the effort to transition our B2B partner applications from legacy access management tools (CA SiteMinder / CA Identity Manager) to a modern Microsoft cloud identity platform (Entra External ID).
The ideal candidate excels at translating complex business processes, vendor requirements, and partner onboarding flows into clear, actionable functional specifications and Agile user stories. You will serve as the primary bridge between enterprise business stakeholders, application development teams, and technical identity engineering leads.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Requirements & Application Discovery
Lead discovery sessions with business application teams to document current user access, login experience, and profile management requirements.
Inventory all downstream application dependencies, identifying business-critical user attributes, role structures, and profile fields required for daily operations.
Document end-to-end B2B partner lifecycle workflows, including account creation, profile updates, self-service password reset, and partner offboarding.
- Process Design & Functional Specifications
Partner with the IAM Architect to translate high-level solution designs into detailed functional process flows and business requirement documents (BRDs).
Define business rules for partner self-service registration, delegated administration, and internal employee access
Document data-mapping requirements for user profiles, identifying required attributes versus legacy or duplicate data to be retired.
- Agile Delivery & Backlog Management
Author structured user stories with detailed acceptance criteria, edge cases, and business workflow expectations in Jira .
Maintain the functional product backlog, working closely with project managers and technical leads to prioritize work across sprint cycles.
Facilitate backlog grooming sessions to clarify business intent and validate that developers have all necessary context before execution.
- UAT, Change Management & Cutover Support
Define comprehensive User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans, test scripts, and business validation scenarios for partner sign-in, and profile management.
Coordinate business testing across external partner groups and internal business units to ensure a seamless transition.
Assist with business change management, drafting communication templates, partner onboarding guides, and support runbooks for the helpdesk team.
Key Qualifications & Experience
IAM & Identity Business Analysis: 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Functional Lead supporting enterprise Identity & Access Management (IAM) or cloud migration projects.
Legacy Migration Familiarity: Understanding of identity modernization projects (moving off legacy systems like CA SiteMinder/IdM, Oracle, or IBM Tivoli to modern cloud platforms like Microsoft Entra/Azure AD, Okta, or Ping).
Enterprise Application Ecosystems: Experience capturing functional access requirements for web portals, and enterprise business applications.
Agile Requirements Delivery: Proficiency in writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and process workflows using tools like Jira.
Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills with a proven track record of facilitating workshops across business executives, vendor partners, and IT delivery teams.
Data & Attribute Analysis: Comfortable working with data dictionaries, user profile fields, and mapping matrices to ensure clean data migration.

Application Access & Attribute Inventory: Detailed matrix mapping business applications to required user attributes, roles, and access requirements.
Business Process Workflows: Visio/Lucidchart process diagrams for B2B partner login, registration, password recovery, and profile updates.
Agile User Story Backlog: Groomed user stories with crisp acceptance criteria ready for sprint execution.
UAT & Change Management Pack: Business test scripts, validation criteria, and support runbooks for cutover readiness.
Deliverables:
-Process Flows -Mentor and Knowledge transfer to client project team members -Participate as primary, co and/or contributing author on any and all project deliverables associated with their assigned areas of responsibility -Participate in data conversion and data maintenance -Provide best practice and industry specific solutions -Advise on and provide alternative (out of the box) solutions -Provide thought leadership as well as hands on technical configuration/development as needed. -Participate as a team member of the functional team -Perform other duties as assigned.
