Overview
We have an immediate need for a senior-level EDP Quality Engineer to support an enterprise data platform initiative. This is a hands-on role focused on validating data across ingestion, transformation, and processing layers to ensure high data quality and integrity.

The platform is built on modern cloud technologies and supports both migration from a legacy enterprise data warehouse and the development of new data products across business domains.

This is a 6-month contract with potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities

· Validate data ingestion, transformations, mappings, and business rules across multiple data layers

· Perform source-to-target validation and reconciliation across systems (row counts, aggregates, field-level validation)

· Ensure data quality dimensions including completeness, accuracy, consistency, timeliness, and integrity

· Build and execute automated and manual data tests using frameworks such as Great Expectations and Dataform

· Integrate data quality checks into CI/CD pipelines

· Validate workflow orchestration, including dependencies, scheduling, retries, and error handling

· Monitor pipeline performance and troubleshoot data quality issues

· Perform regression testing across environments

· Manage defects through full lifecycle tracking tools (e.g., Jira)

· Participate in user acceptance testing and release readiness activities

· Collaborate with engineers, architects, product teams, and business stakeholders

· Contribute to quality standards, tools, and best practices

Required Qualifications

· 4+ years of experience in data testing or quality engineering

· Strong SQL skills for querying and validating large datasets

· Experience with modern cloud data platforms (BigQuery strongly preferred)

· Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, and schema design

· Experience with automated data testing frameworks and CI/CD integration

· Proven experience with data validation and reconciliation techniques

· Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar

· Strong analytical and communication skills

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience supporting data warehouse migration to cloud platforms

· Python experience for automation or validation

· Familiarity with data observability tools and concepts

· Experience working in Agile environments

Work Environment
