We are seeking a versatile Application Systems Analyst/Developer to support and enhance a complex enterprise environment leveraging COBOL, Oracle databases, UC4 automation workflows, and modern web technologies. This role is focused on maintaining and updating existing systems, troubleshooting production issues, and supporting batch processing and web application infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities

COBOL Application Support & Maintenance>
Analyze, maintain, and update existing COBOL programs (approximately 12 annually and 6 custom programs as needed)
Troubleshoot and support vendor-delivered (Sigma) COBOL applications
Compile and deploy Sigma-provided COBOL programs on a regular basis
Leverage COBOL knowledge to support scripting and system integrations

Database & Data Management (SQL / Oracle)>
Write and optimize SQL queries for data retrieval, updates, and validation
Apply and support Sigma database updates within Oracle environments
Develop and maintain data extract processes, including files controlling table transfers to the data hub
Ensure data integrity and consistency across systems

Batch Processing & Automation (UC4 / Automic)>
Design, build, and maintain UC4 workflows supporting financial aid (FA) processing
Manage and monitor over 100 daily batch jobs
Troubleshoot job failures and optimize workflow performance
Integrate COBOL programs and Linux commands into automated workflows

Linux & Server Operations>
Execute and manage Linux commands for daily operational tasks (e.g., file movement, execution, and job control)
Create and maintain batch scripts that automate sequences of Linux commands
Perform file transfers and job execution on ProSAM servers, including returning output to file share locations
Support operational processes such as FA file sharing and job execution

Support Sigma’s Spring Boot-based Enterprise Web Applications (EWA)
Assist with configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting of web applications
Perform light customization of CFP templates using HTML and CSS

Modern DevOps & Deployment>
Use Git for version control and code management
Support deployment and hosting of packaged web applications using Kubernetes and/or Linux-based environments
Collaborate on application configuration and environment setup
Required Qualifications
Experience working with COBOL (reading, understanding, and modifying existing programs)
Strong SQL skills, including writing complex queries and updates
Experience with Oracle databases
Hands-on experience with Linux command line and scripting
Experience with batch job scheduling tools such as UC4 (Automic) or similar
Familiarity with file handling, automation, and system integrations
