The Opportunity
StaffRight Associates is recruiting for a premier client in the national security sector. The client is looking for seasoned scientists and engineers who work where cyber, research, and advanced systems meet. You will be based full-time at the client’s Bedford, MA site and contribute directly to high-stakes aerospace and defense initiatives. In these programs, deep hands-on skill turns ambitious concepts into fielded capability.
The client wants practitioners who have taken sophisticated engineering and security principles out of theory and applied them to operational hardware and software. Depth in any of these domains makes for a strong fit: cybersecurity, reverse engineering, unmanned aircraft and counter-unmanned aircraft systems, drones, space systems, or embedded platforms. A graduate degree is preferred, but the client will seriously consider proven expertise of comparable caliber.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver hands-on engineering expertise across a portfolio of demanding aerospace and defense efforts.
- Dissect systems through reverse engineering, vulnerability assessment, and in-depth technical investigation.
- Evaluate embedded platforms, software, hardware, and networked architectures to uncover how they behave and where they break.
- Accelerate the design and assessment of unmanned, counter-unmanned, drone, and space technologies.
- Wield practical cyber techniques to pinpoint weaknesses, gauge risk, and engineer targeted technical fixes.
- Drive experiments, test campaigns, rapid prototypes, and follow-on analysis.
- Partner with cross-disciplinary research and engineering colleagues to crack difficult technical challenges.
- Author clear reports, analyses, technical documentation, and briefings.
- Pivot across multiple programs and new initiatives as mission priorities shift.
What You Bring
Required:
- A current, active clearance at the Secret or Top Secret level.
- A master’s or doctoral degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a comparable technical discipline. Equivalent proven expertise may substitute.
- Practical Cybersecurity experience or comparable depth in an adjacent technical field.
- Demonstrated experience in at least one of: Embedded Systems, Reverse Engineering, Counter-UAS (C-UAS), UAS / UAV / Drones, Space Systems / Space Warfare, or Cybersecurity.
- Sharp problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical instincts.
- The self-direction to tackle complex problems with minimal guidance, and the ability to translate findings for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Commitment to a full-time, onsite schedule.
Preferred:
- A background in national security, intelligence, aerospace, or broader DoD / defense settings.
- Embedded Software/Hardware Analysis experience.
- Fluency with Reverse Engineering Tools and Methodologies.
- Analysis of Communications, Networks, Protocols, or Cyber-Physical Systems.
- Exposure to UAS/C-UAS or related Autonomous Systems.
- Contributions to space-based or Space Warfare programs.
- Work in Malware Analysis, Vulnerability Research, Exploitation, or Cyber Operations.
- Strong coding and scripting ability in C/C++, Python, Assembly, or comparable languages.
Compensation & Total Rewards:
Annual base salary: $200,000 - $215,000 (DOE)
