Summary

Project Manager

Washington, WA - Almost Remote (Occasionally Onsite)

Project Summary: The Client is undertaking the Program, a large-scale initiative to replace a mainframe-centric legacy environment comprising over 100 computer systems built across 40 years with a cloud-first, modern system of systems. To support this transformation, the Client Program requires four (4) Project Managers to plan, manage, and deliver project work across assigned Client workstreams, drive risk and issue management, and provide project management leadership. These roles require strong strategic planning skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse contributors to monitor risks, escalate issues, and ensure consistent tracking and reporting of project activities. The Project Managers will serve as project management resources embedded with the Client Program, working closely with the Program Director, PMO Director, business leads, subject matter experts, and agency staff to maintain project integrity and support program decision-making across a multi-year program horizon.

Estimated Project Period: November 2026 – April 30, 2027, with option to extend.

Place of Work Performance: Primarily remote. Each contractor is required to travel onsite to the agency’s designated Olympia location once per calendar month for one (1) week or as required. Travel costs are not reimbursable under Statewide Contract 14822 and applicable state travel policy.

Anticipated Consultant Hours: 40 hours per week (full-time) per resource. Four (4) Project Manager contractor resources required.

•         Degree must be in Information Systems, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.

•         Demonstrated experience planning, managing, and delivering IT projects across multiple concurrent workstreams, incorporating resource constraints, milestones, and task dependencies.

•         Proven experience identifying, escalating, and documenting project risks and issues, and developing mitigation strategies in coordination with program leadership.
