Summary

We are looking for a Data Architect Manager to lead a large-scale data warehouse modernization initiative, migrating legacy systems (IBM iSeries DB2 / IBM Sailfish) to Snowflake on Google Cloud Platform. This role requires strong technical expertise along with leadership capabilities to drive architecture, oversee multiple workstreams, and engage with stakeholders at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead end-to-end data warehouse modernization from IBM iSeries DB2/Sailfish to Snowflake

Define and implement scalable data architecture on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform)

Design optimized data models (star/snowflake schemas) for performance and cost efficiency

Oversee development of ETL/ELT pipelines using DBT and Prefect

Drive Change Data Capture (CDC) implementation for real-time/near real-time data processing

Collaborate with business stakeholders, analytics teams, and leadership to define data strategy

Ensure data governance, security, and data quality standards are implemented

Integrate Snowflake with Google BigQuery and other Google Cloud Platform services as needed

Provide insights using Google Analytics and clickstream data

Lead multiple migration tracks and ensure timely delivery with high reliability

Act as a client-facing technical leader, presenting architecture and solutions at a strategic level

Required Skills & Experience

12+ years in Data Engineering / Data Architecture, with leadership experience

Strong expertise in Snowflake, IBM iSeries DB2, and legacy data warehouse systems

Hands-on experience in data warehouse migration projects

Proficiency in DBT, Prefect, SQL, and performance tuning

Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, cloud-native services)

Expertise in data modeling, ETL/ELT, and CDC frameworks

Experience with Google Analytics / clickstream data analysis

Ability to manage teams, prioritize workstreams, and drive delivery

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in cloud modernization programs

Strong background in data governance and security frameworks

Excellent stakeholder communication and leadership skills
