Job Summary:
As a Database Administrator, you will play a critical role in providing database support across various hardware and software platforms. Your primary responsibilities include monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring optimal database functionality. You will also collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to support data movement activities and participate in global software events.
Note: This position is backfilling an internal opening and involves high engagement with both the supplier community and internal customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site database and system support.
- Monitor system performance and capacity, collect statistical data, and generate performance reports.
- Recommend improvements to maintain and enhance system performance and capacity.
- Respond to system and application alerts and perform diagnostics, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Plan and execute software and database installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching.
- Manage system and database backups and perform manual switches to redundant components in case of system failure.
- Serve as a primary contact for troubleshooting Teamcenter, NX, TcVis, and data structure issues for ME users.
- Support data movement activities, including imports, exports, translations, and corrections, between global GM databases, plants, and vendors.
- Document and refine data management processes, best practices, and training materials.
- Collaborate with the GM user community and suppliers.
- Conduct regression testing for Teamcenter/NX/TcVis releases, patches, and updates.
- Automate user identity and data storage audit workflows using tools like Power Automate, Power BI, Databricks/AI, and Mendix.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor''s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in database administration and operations.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with Teamcenter NX and Siemens-related tools.
- Understanding of Help Desk tools, trouble ticket tracking processes, and support agreements.
- Proven ability to write excellent technical documentation.
- Experience with automating workflows and data management processes.
