Google Cloud Platform Architect

We are looking for an experienced Google Cloud Platform Platform Architect to lead the design, governance, and modernization of a cloud platform supporting a portfolio of business-critical Pharmacovigilance and Drug Safety applications.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving cloud architecture, platform engineering, observability, automation, reliability, security, and application modernization initiatives on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). This role requires close collaboration with engineering, operations, security, and business stakeholders to deliver a scalable, secure, and highly reliable cloud ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud & Platform Architecture

• Define and govern enterprise cloud architecture standards on Google Cloud Platform.
• Lead cloud adoption, modernization, and platform transformation initiatives.
• Design scalable, resilient, secure, and cost-efficient cloud solutions.
• Establish reusable platform services and cloud-native architecture patterns.

Observability & AIOps

• Define enterprise observability standards across metrics, logs, traces, events, and business KPIs.
• Ensure adherence to cloud-native, security, observability, DevOps, and performance standards.
• Implement and enhance monitoring solutions using Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry and other popular AIOps tools.
• Drive AIOps capabilities include anomaly detection, predictive monitoring, signal correlation, and automated RCA.

Platform Engineering & Automation

• Lead platform automation and self-service engineering initiatives.
• Define Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) standards using Terraform.
• Automate environment provisioning, monitoring onboarding, compliance checks, and operational workflows.
• Drive SRE practices, self-healing capabilities, and operational excellence.

Application Architecture Leadership & Governance

• Review and govern architecture, integrations, APIs, and modernization initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership across support, maintenance, and enhancement programs.

• Serve as the architectural authority for cloud platform initiatives.
• Present architecture roadmaps and technical strategies to leadership teams.
• Mentor engineering teams and promote engineering best practices.

Required Technical Skills:

Excellent command of Google Cloud Platform and it’s services

GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine), Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Compute Engine, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, VPC Networking, IAM, Cloud Monitoring & Logging, Secret Manager

• Gemani AI (Mandatory)
• APIGEE (Mandatory)
• Handson experience on AWS Platform

Observability & SRE

• Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Distributed Tracing, APM & Service Mapping, SLI/SLO Design, Operational Dashboards, AIOps Platforms

DevOps & Automation

• Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, GitHub Actions / GitLab CI / Jenkins, Python, Shell Scripting, CI/CD and Infrastructure Automation

Security & Compliance:

• Cloud Security Architecture
• IAM & Access Control
• Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity
• Compliance & Governance Frameworks
• GxP/CSV Experience (Preferred)

Preferred Experience:

• 12-15 years of overall IT experience.
• 8+ years in architecture and technical leadership roles.
• 5+ years designing and architecting solutions on Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with enterprise-scale cloud platforms and observability programs.
• Prior experience in Life Sciences, Pharmacovigilance, Healthcare, or other regulated environments.
• Experience working with global delivery and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Certifications:

• Google Cloud Platform Certification (Minimum Intermediate Level)
• AWS Certification (Minimum Intermediate Level)
• CKA / CKAD (Optional)
• Terraform Associate (Optional)
• TOGAF (Optional)
