About the Team

Our Equity Compensation Solutions organization designs, builds, and maintains enterprise-grade B2B platforms that power equity administration and corporate share plan services for industry-leading corporate partners worldwide. We are focused on delivering modern, highly reliable, and secure platforms while sustaining engineering excellence and fostering an inclusive, high-performance team culture.

Role Overview

As a Senior Engineering Lead, you will architect, implement, and maintain mission-critical Java-based enterprise services, microservices, and web components. In this role, you will write clean, scalable, and resilient code, mentor development teams, and guide technical architecture through standard design patterns and best practices.

You will evaluate alternative technologies, lead continuous integration and deployment initiatives, conduct architectural reviews, and ensure systems meet high bars for availability, performance, and security.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large-scale, robust Java enterprise applications and RESTful microservices.
  • Collaborate actively in an Agile/Scrum environment, taking ownership of sprints, ceremonies, and engineering deliverables.
  • Ensure code quality by driving automated unit testing, integration testing, test-driven development (TDD), and thorough peer code reviews.
  • Partner with architecture and product teams to design for high availability, resiliency, security, scalability, and system performance.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments, and cloud-native solutions.
  • Troubleshoot, profile, and resolve complex performance bottlenecks across the full application stack.
  • Author clear technical documentation, design specifications, and developer tooling to support long-term maintainability.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience actively building and reviewing backend applications in Java.
  • 5+ years of experience with relational database design and SQL (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or equivalent).
  • 5+ years of experience with automated testing and testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Mockito).
  • 3+ years of experience developing RESTful web services and enterprise APIs.
  • 3+ years of experience with modern Java frameworks (Spring, Spring Boot).
  • 2+ years of experience building and automating CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bamboo, CircleCI, etc.).
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience deploying or managing applications on a cloud platform (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, or PCF).
  • Experience with version control and developer workflows using Git/GitHub and collaboration platforms (Bitbucket, JIRA, Confluence).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience migrating legacy web services (SOAP) to modern, lightweight RESTful APIs.
  • Experience architecting high-volume batch processing systems using Spring Batch.
  • Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) or Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
  • Working knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles and distributed team practices.
  • Strong architectural focus on non-functional requirements including privacy, observability, fault tolerance, and zero-downtime deployments.
