Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a
Database Administrator (SQL Server + Oracle) for a
contract assignment with one of our premier
Utility Services clients in
Tampa (will require split time between Lutz, Tampa, and Brandon, FL since there are co-located teams). Client will reimburse travel expenses from location to location.
Must have experience supporting SQL Server and Oracle and have experience/exposure to Cloud Technologies (Azure or AWS).
Responsibilities :
Participate as a Database Administrator as part of a team of five DBA's and several contract DBA's supporting the enterprise wide database landscape . Be involved in database projects and operational support.
- Will assist project teams in choosing appropriate Database Architectures that fit the business requirements while aligning with IT Standards and Procedures.
- Will be responsible for creating reference architectures for the IT and business teams to review and approve. In addition, a need to document changes to the environment and communicate effectively with the database team is vitally important.
- Will be working with the IT Database team in database creation of a database Cloud strategy and migration from on -prem to the cloud where advantageous.
- Will be interacting with in house developers and end users as well as other contract resources.
- Responsible for building new or modifying existing database systems by producing the prescribed deliverables
- Responsible for Developing and implementing database cloud strategy
- Responsible for migration from local backups to NetBackup as part of a DBA team goal.
- Work with Technical business teams and integrators as part of the ADI portfolio initiative
- Mentor DBA team members
- May be asked to work on-call hours
Required Skills:
- Experience required: average 10 years
- Strong documentation, communication and critical thinking skills are required.
- Strong communication skills. Ability to document and follow technical documentation.
