Summary:

We are looking for a SQL Server DBA (with Azure) with 4+ years of hands-on experience in SQL Server database administration and Azure database technologies. The candidate should have experience supporting production databases, troubleshooting database issues, backup/restore, performance monitoring, security, and basic HA/DR.

Required skills:

• 4-7 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA, with hands-on experience in production environments.
• Strong experience in SQL Server 2016/2019/2022.
• Basic to intermediate experience in Azure SQL technologies.
• Experience supporting 24×7 production environments, incident management, change management, and on-call support.

SQL DBA Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server 2016/2019/2022.
• Perform daily database monitoring and health checks.
• Manage Full, Differential, and Transaction Log backups.
• Perform database restores and point-in-time recovery.
• Create and manage SQL Server Agent jobs, schedules, alerts, and operators.
• Perform SQL Server patching and participate in upgrade activities.
• Support Always on Availability Groups and basic HA/DR activities.
• Manage SQL Server logins, database users, roles, and permissions.
• Perform database refreshes, migrations, backup/restore, and database movement between servers.
• Monitor and troubleshoot SQL Server Replication.
• Perform basic SQL performance tuning using DMVs, Execution plans, Query Store, Extended Events
• Manage database growth, data/log files, TempDB, and disk-space issues.
• Troubleshoot database connectivity and application connection issues.
• Support SSIS/SSRS and linked-server related issues.
• Follow change, incident, problem, and request management processes.
• Prepare technical documentation and RCA for production incidents.

Azure DBA Responsibilities:

• Basic to intermediate administration of Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance and SQL Server on Azure VM.
• Monitor Azure SQL databases using Azure Portal and Azure Monitor.
• Perform backup, restore, and point-in-time recovery activities.
• Manage Azure SQL users, permissions, and authentication.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Entra ID authentication.
• Troubleshoot Azure SQL connectivity and firewall-related issues.
• Basic understanding of Azure Storage,  Private Endpoints, VNets and Subnets, Azure Key Vault
• Support SQL Server migration activities to Azure.
• Monitor database performance and resource utilization in Azure.
• Use PowerShell/Azure CLI for basic DBA automation and administration.
