Role Summary
As a Voice Consultation Tech, the IT Specialist will handle consultations for migrating legacy and local voice systems to the state’s shared, centralized VoIP platform, UniteNY. The role focuses on assessing existing systems and executing migrations using batch/bulk update files within the VOSS-4-UC management platform.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Legacy System Assessment: Assess legacy/local voice system setups and consult with clients regarding existing configurations.
- VoIP Platform Migration: Coordinate configuration, installation, and migration to the UniteNY VoIP platform using bulk/batch update files in VOSS-4-UC.
- Vendor & Telephone Number (TN) Coordination: Work with vendor partners to coordinate porting and migrating TNs from existing telco services.
- Transition Management: Ensure smooth end-to-end migrations to the new centralized system.
Mandatory & Requested Qualifications
Mandatory Qualification
- 36–60 Months Experience: Candidate must be an experienced IT Specialist capable of working independently without assistance across technical architectures or business application environments.
Scored Requested Qualifications
- 48+ Months: Experience in Unified Communications (UC) / VoIP platforms.
- 48+ Months: Experience using Microsoft Excel.
- 12+ Months: Experience with software/hardware deployments.
- 6+ Months: Experience with VOSS / CUCDM (Cisco Unified Communications Domain Manager).
- 6+ Months: Experience with ServiceNow.
- 6+ Months: Experience with legacy telecommunications technologies (POTS, CTX, PRI, etc.).
Technical & Security Environment
- Software Tools: VOSS-4-UC, ServiceNow, Pinnacle, MS Excel, Word, Visio, Forms, Active Directory, Outlook, Teams, WebEx.
- Hardware: Cisco VoIP Phones, Cisco and Aruba routers/switches, Meraki WAPs, Laptops, iPhones.
- Security Requirements: Mandatory ITS Security Agreements and Fingerprint-based Background Check.
