The Database Administrator will be responsible for enterprise database administration, support, performance management, high availability, disaster recovery, database security, and modernization across multiple database platforms. The role will support mission-critical production environments and collaborate with system analysts, engineers, programmers, and business users to ensure reliable and efficient database operations.
Formulate system scope through research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems.
Evaluate and implement changes to existing system logic, configurations, and documentation.
Review flow charts, models, procedures, and feasibility studies to develop effective system solutions.
Review technical documentation to support system users and ongoing system operation, maintenance, and development.
Collaborate with system analysts, engineers, and programmers to design systems and determine project limitations, capabilities, performance requirements, standards, and interfaces.
Identify and document system constraints, implications, and potential consequences of proposed system changes.
Develop training materials and conduct demonstrations to educate end users on system designs and functionality.
Evaluate application and database efficiency and effectiveness while troubleshooting operational issues.
Support mission-critical production database environments with 24x7 availability requirements.
Expert-level database installation, configuration, upgrades, and patch management.
Database cluster design, implementation, administration, and support.
High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) architecture, implementation, and support.
Backup, restore, recovery, replication, and business continuity solutions.
Database migration, consolidation, and platform modernization.
Shell scripting and automation for database administration and operational tasks.
Experience leveraging AI for database administration and operational activities.
Application and database performance analysis, troubleshooting, and root-cause investigation.
Audit, compliance, risk management, and automated reporting solutions.
Database performance tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning.
Experience with tools such as Oracle Grid Control, Foglight, and native database monitoring utilities.
Strong understanding of database security, governance, and regulatory compliance.
Experience supporting highly available, mission-critical production environments.
Working knowledge of Snowflake database administration.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
