Project Accountant
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant with experience supporting the financial operations of construction or project-based businesses. This individual will partner with project managers, operations teams, and accounting leadership to monitor project costs, profitability, billing, and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
Manage project accounting activities across multiple active projects.
Track job costs, project budgets, committed costs, and expenditures.
Prepare and reconcile Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules.
Support percentage-of-completion and contract revenue recognition.
Prepare progress billings, including AIA billing where applicable.
Analyze project profitability, cost variances, and budget-to-actual results.
Assist with month-end close, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting.
Collaborate with Project Managers, Accounting Managers, and Controllers.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Experience in construction, specialty contracting, engineering, or project-based accounting.
Knowledge of job costing, WIP reporting, and project financial analysis.
Familiarity with construction accounting software or ERP systems.
Strong Excel and financial reconciliation skills.
Ability to work with project management and operational leadership.
