Summary

CGi, LLC is seeking a strategic, technically fluent, and visionary leader to drive the design and delivery of a next-generation Learning Management System (LMS).

This role sits at the intersection of technical leadership, project execution, and product strategy—serving as both the orchestrator of a high-performing web development team and the architect of future-forward LMS solutions.

The ideal candidate is a former developer or highly technical project leader who understands system architecture, speaks the language of engineers, and can translate complex business goals into scalable, secure, and innovative platform solutions. This individual will not only ensure projects stay on track—but will also shape the long-term vision, tools, and capabilities of the LMS ecosystem.

Technical Leadership & Architecture

·       Act as the primary technical liaison between project management, developers, and stakeholders

·       Lead technical discovery sessions to define system architecture, integrations, and data flows

·       Translate business and user requirements into detailed technical specifications

·       Collaborate with developers on backend/frontend design, database structure, and system performance optimization

·       Provide guidance on APIs, integrations (e.g., Salesforce, HRIS, SSO, payment systems), and data exchange strategies

·       Evaluate technical approaches, development estimates, and architectural decisions

·       Ensure platform scalability, security, accessibility, and compliance readiness (e.g., certification requirements, SCORM)

Product Strategy & Innovation

·       Develop and maintain the LMS product roadmap aligned with organizational and revenue goals

·       Research and recommend emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks (including AI applications in LMS)

·       Drive innovation in user experience, reporting, automation, and platform capabilities

·       Define and track KPIs such as user engagement, adoption, revenue impact, and system performance

·       Analyze platform data to inform enhancements and continuous improvement

Project & Delivery Management

·       Define project scope, timelines, deliverables, budgets, and success metrics

·       Build and manage detailed project plans, sprint backlogs, and development workflows

·       Lead Agile ceremonies including daily scrums and sprint planning

·       Monitor progress, identify risks, and proactively resolve blockers

·       Communicate project status, milestones, and risks to leadership and stakeholders

·       Ensure alignment between technical execution and business objective

Team Leadership & Operational Excellence

·       Lead and support a high-performing web development team, ensuring clarity, accountability, and productivity

·       Foster a healthy development environment with strong collaboration, communication, and continuous improvement

·       Manage resource allocation and capacity planning

·       Collaborate across teams to align priorities and drive execution

·       Build credibility and trust across technical and non-technical stakeholders

Vendor & Systems Management

·       Coordinate vendor relationships, contracts, and third-party integrations

·       Lead and support system configuration, data migration, and implementation activities

·       Ensure alignment of external partners with internal technical standards and goals

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

·       Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)

·       5+ years leading software development projects or technical product initiatives

·       Strong experience working with web development teams and software engineers

·       Deep understanding of system architecture, APIs, and SaaS platform design

·       Experience with integrations (SSO, HRIS, CRM such as Salesforce, payment systems, reporting tools)

·       Ability to translate between technical and business stakeholders effectively

·       Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects from concept to delivery

Preferred

·       Background as a software developer or systems engineer

·       Experience with LMS platforms and eLearning standards (e.g., SCORM)

·       Familiarity with .NET environments

·       Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or similar)

·       PMP or similar project management certification

·       Experience incorporating AI or advanced technologies into platform solutions

Core Competencies

·       Strategic thinking with a strong execution mindset

·       Technical depth paired with strong communication skills

·       Leadership presence with the ability to motivate and align teams

·       High attention to detail, organization, and accountability

·       Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments

·       Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities

·       Commitment to innovation and continuous improvement
