Job DetailsWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tax Manager to join our team in a people leadership role. This individual will oversee tax compliance and planning while directly managing and developing a team of tax professionals. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, proven leadership experience, and the ability to build and manage client relationships in a fast-paced environment.
As a Tax Manager, you will own client engagements end-to-end, drive tax strategy, and play a key role in developing talent and scaling the tax function.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management:
Manage, coach, and develop Tax Seniors and Staff, including performance reviews and career development
Delegate work effectively and oversee team workloads across engagements
Foster a high-performance, collaborative team environment
Support hiring, onboarding, and retention efforts
Client Management & Advisory:
Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for clients
Lead engagements from planning through delivery
Provide proactive tax planning strategies aligned to client needs
Technical & Compliance:
Review complex federal and state tax returns across individuals and entities
Ensure accuracy, compliance, and quality standards
Research and resolve complex tax issues
Manage IRS/state audits and notices
Strategy & Growth:
Partner with leadership on tax strategy and firm initiatives
Identify opportunities to expand client relationships
Support business development and process improvements
Qualifications
Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA required
6-10+ years of tax experience with team leadership
Proven experience managing direct reports
Strong client-facing and relationship management skills
Deep knowledge of tax regulations
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
