Seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst SharePoint & Microsoft 365 Specialist to support our client. This role is responsible for leading SharePoint Online architecture, governance, workflow automation, and enterprise collaboration solutions across the program. The ideal candidate is a hands-on functional/technical analyst with strong experience designing, configuring, and optimizing Microsoft 365 solutions for large, complex organizations. You will work closely with business units, project managers, engineering teams, and IT leadership to modernize collaboration, streamline document management, and enhance productivity across the client program
Sr. Business Systems Analyst -SharePoint & Microsoft 365 Specialist
Location: San Jose, CA - 3 days onsite
Key Responsibilities
SharePoint & Microsoft 365 Solution Delivery
- Lead the design, configuration, and administration of SharePoint Online sites, libraries, lists, permissions, and governance structures.
- Develop and maintain SharePoint architecture, taxonomy, metadata, and content organization.
- Implement and optimize Microsoft 365 collaboration tools including Teams, OneDrive, Power Automate, and Power Apps.
- Create automated workflows, forms, and business processes using Power Platform
Business Analysis & Stakeholder Engagement
- Conduct requirements-gathering sessions with business units and project teams.
- Translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories, and solution designs.
- Develop process maps, use cases, and documentation for system enhancements.
- Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT), training, and change management activities.
Governance, Security & Compliance
- Establish and enforce SharePoint governance, permissions models, and content lifecycle policies.
- Ensure compliance with client IT standards, security policies, and data management requirements.
- Support audit readiness, access reviews, and content retention strategies.
Operational Support
- Provide Tier2/Tier3 support for SharePoint and Microsoft 365 issues.
- Troubleshoot integration, workflow, and configuration issues.
- Monitor system performance, usage, and adoption metrics.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience as a business systems analyst or SharePoint/M365 specialist.
- Strong hands-on experience with SharePoint Online site design, administration, permissions, and governance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools: Teams, OneDrive, Power Automate, Power Apps, Planner, and related services.
- Experience developing workflow automation, forms, and business processes.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Strong documentation skills (BRDs, FRDs, process flows, user guides).
- Experience supporting large enterprise or public-sector programs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in transportation, construction, engineering, or public-sector environments.
- Knowledge of enterprise document management, metadata design, and content lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with Azure AD, security groups, and M365 compliance features.
- Experience with migration projects (onprem SharePoint to SharePoint Online).
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-600, MS-700, PL300, PL400) are a plus
