Job Title: Product owner with Life & annuity exp.
Location: Remote, US
Job description: Seeking an experienced Product Owner to support large-scale Life & Annuity insurance transformation initiatives.
- The role bridges business stakeholders and development teams, translating needs into clear requirements, guiding platform implementations, and supporting modernization of core insurance systems.
- The ideal candidate has experience with Life & Annuity policy administration platforms and can partner with business users, architects, developers, testing teams, and project leadership in Agile environments to deliver successful outcomes.
- Gather, analyze, and define business requirements for Life & Annuity transformation initiatives.
- Experience with Life & Annuity policy administration systems such as FAST (Verisk), ALIP, OIPA, DXC wmA/CyberLife, EXL LifePro, or similar modern policy administration platforms.
- Translate business needs into functional requirements and user stories.
- Serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Lead workshops, requirements sessions, and process discussions.
- Support future-state process design and platform transformation efforts.
- Partner with development teams to clarify requirements and drive successful delivery within Agile delivery environments.
- Help evaluate platform capabilities, configuration options, and business impacts.
- Support implementation, integration, testing, and release activities.
- Work across multiple insurance functions and business workstreams.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, testing teams, and project leadership to deliver successful outcomes.
- Experience within the Life Insurance and Annuities industry.
- Experience supporting business transformation or technology modernization initiatives.
- Strong requirements gathering, process analysis, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work directly with both business users and technical teams.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
- Experience on either the carrier side or consulting side of insurance projects.
- Experience with platform implementations, upgrades, or modernization initiatives.
- Experience supporting integrations, APIs, data migration, or testing activities.
- Strong understanding of Life & Annuity operations, including New Business, Underwriting, Policy Administration, Billing, Customer Servicing, and Claims.
