About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled
Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in
Python and Node.js to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and distributed applications. The ideal candidate will have experience developing high-performance APIs, integrating cloud-native technologies, and collaborating within Agile engineering teams to deliver reliable, secure, and maintainable software solutions.
This role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on development expertise, and the ability to drive engineering excellence across the software development lifecycle.
ResponsibilitiesDesign and Development- Design, architect, and develop scalable backend applications and services using Python and Node.js.
- Build secure, high-performing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
- Develop reusable, maintainable, and testable code following engineering best practices.
System Integration- Integrate internal and external APIs, databases, and third-party platforms.
- Ensure seamless connectivity across distributed systems and enterprise applications.
- Support implementation of service-oriented and event-driven architectures.
Performance and Reliability- Analyze system performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Improve application scalability, availability, and operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and implement sustainable solutions.
Quality Engineering- Develop unit, integration, and automated tests to ensure application stability.
- Participate in code reviews and enforce coding standards across the development team.
- Maintain high standards for security, reliability, and software quality.
Collaboration and Leadership- Partner with frontend engineers, DevOps teams, architects, product managers, and business stakeholders.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.
- Contribute to technical design discussions and architectural decision-making.
Continuous Improvement- Evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and development methodologies.
- Recommend improvements to engineering practices, tools, and workflows.
- Support modernization initiatives and cloud adoption strategies.
Documentation- Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, implementation guides, and operational procedures.
- Document system designs and engineering decisions to support ongoing maintenance and scalability.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience developing applications with Python and Node.js.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
- Experience building RESTful APIs, backend services, and microservices.
- Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Experience working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Redis.
- Experience using Git and modern source-control workflows.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum software development environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with Python frameworks such as Django or Flask.
- Experience with cloud platforms including Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Microsoft Azure.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Experience with modern testing frameworks including PyTest, Jest, or Mocha.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices, infrastructure automation, and cloud-native application development.
- Experience supporting large-scale, enterprise-grade applications and distributed systems.
