Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst with strong Healthcare/Payer, Provider Data, SQL, and RESTful API integration experience. The consultant will support a healthcare provider/network data integration initiative involving Availity, a healthcare network data platform.

The ideal candidate will have experience translating business requirements into technical requirements, analyzing provider and network data, defining data mappings and API specifications, and working closely with business, architecture, development, and data engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into technical requirements, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
  • Work with provider and healthcare network data, including provider demographics, specialties, affiliations, locations, and network participation.
  • Support Availity integration and provider/network data exchange initiatives.
  • Analyze healthcare data across providers, members, claims, networks, and master/reference data.
  • Use SQL for data analysis, profiling, validation, reconciliation, troubleshooting, and data quality investigations.
  • Develop and maintain source-to-target mappings, data mappings, interface specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Analyze data transformations, matching/duplication issues, data quality problems, and downstream dependencies.
  • Work with RESTful APIs, including JSON request/response structures, authentication, error handling, and API testing.
  • Collaborate with developers and architects to define integration requirements and resolve technical issues.
  • Support SIT, UAT, API testing, defect analysis, root-cause analysis, and production validation.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Work closely with healthcare business stakeholders, product owners, architects, developers, QA, and data engineering teams.
  • Support cloud-based integration environments and Terraform / Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst / Business Systems Analyst.
  • Strong Healthcare / Healthcare Payer domain experience.
  • Experience with Provider Data, Provider Network, or Provider Directory data.
  • Experience with Availity or similar healthcare provider/network data platforms is highly preferred.
  • Strong hands-on SQL skills.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and API integrations.
  • Strong understanding of data mapping, data integration, data validation, and reconciliation.
  • Experience writing technical requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and interface specifications.
  • Strong experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Working knowledge of Terraform / Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with healthcare payer environments.
  • Experience with Availity integrations.
  • Knowledge of provider directory and healthcare network data.
  • Exposure to Java and/or Python.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with healthcare data quality, provider matching, and master data management.
