Job Description
We are seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Expert to support a large-scale SAP S/4HANA Conversion Project from ECC. The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge of ABAP development, hands-on experience with S/4HANA simplification requirements, and strong expertise in code remediation, performance optimization, and advanced development frameworks used in S/4HANA.
Key Responsibilities
1. S/4HANA Conversion & Remediation
• Perform comprehensive ABAP code remediation to address S/4HANA simplification items (SI checks).
• Analyze and resolve issues identified during SAP Readiness Check, ATC checks, and Custom Code Migration Worklist.
• Optimize custom objects for HANA DB compatibility, including removal of obsolete statements and improving SQL performance.
• Convert classical ABAP reports, enhancements, and interfaces to S/4HANA-compliant designs.
2. Technical Development & Design
• Develop and enhance RICEFW objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, Workflows).
• Work with OData services, CDS Views, AMDP, BOPF, and RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP).
• Build and enhance Fiori UI–related backend components.
• Support interfaces using IDocs, RFCs, BAPIs, Web Services, and Integration with SAP PO/PI or other middleware.
3. Conversion Support & Testing
• Collaborate closely with functional teams to understand functional gaps and translate them into technical solutions.
• Support migration activities including LTMC, BAPIs, IDoc-based conversions, and custom load programs.
• Assist in Unit Testing, SIT, UAT, and Cutover phases.
• Troubleshoot defects and provide quick resolutions during testing cycles.
4. Documentation & Quality
• Prepare technical specification documents, remediation logs, transport strategy, and test scripts.
• Ensure adherence to SAP and project development standards.
• Participate in code reviews and performance tuning sessions.
Required Skills & Experience
• 7+ years of SAP ABAP development experience.
• Minimum 2+ years hands-on experience in S/4HANA conversion or implementation projects.
• Strong knowledge of:
o CDS Views, AMDPs, and HANA SQL
o OData service development
o ABAP Object-Oriented Programming
o Enhancements (User Exits, BADIs, Enhancement Framework)
o Forms (SmartForms, Adobe Forms)
• Experience with Custom Code Migration tools (ATC, SCI, Quick Fix, SNOTE corrections).
• Experience optimizing performance of custom code for SAP HANA.
• Understanding of S/4HANA simplification items and functional impacts.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and functional teams.
