Job Title: Automotive Electrical Test Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking an Automotive Electrical Test Engineer with an electrical engineering or technical background and knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, CAN communication, vehicle diagnostics, and engineering problem-solving activities. The ideal candidate should be an independent, self-motivated professional with strong communication skills and the ability to learn new tasks quickly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record CAN traces and bus queries as directed by the Engineer.
  • Support software and configuration activities.
  • Apply engineering problem-solving techniques, including ABA testing and continuity testing.
  • Understand vehicle electrical features and functions.
  • Support validation method development through an understanding of failure modes and effects management.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with CAN communication tools.
  • Understand vehicle diagnostic trouble codes and troubleshooting procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Electrical Engineering degree or relevant technical qualification, preferably with an automotive background.
  • Demonstrable understanding of vehicle electrical features and functions.
  • Broad understanding of failure modes and effects management in the context of validation method development.
  • Familiarity with CAN communication tools.
  • Basic understanding of vehicle diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Familiarity with engineering problem-solving activities, including ABA testing and continuity testing.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
  • Ability to learn new tasks quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with local and international teams.
