Work Arrangement: 100% On-Site
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Estimated Hours: Approximately 1,612.5 hours

 

Position Summary

TechNix is seeking an experienced On-Site IT Support Technician for a healthcare environment in Stony Brook, NY.

The technician will support, maintain, repair, configure, and deploy mobile medical carts and associated computer equipment throughout multiple hospital locations.

The ideal candidate must have strong desktop/endpoint support experience and prior experience working with Cerner EMR. Experience supporting Capsa, JACO, and Ergotron medical carts/workstations is highly preferred.

 

Minimum Required Qualifications

Candidates must have:

  • Minimum 2 years of Technical Support / Desktop Support experience.
  • Previous experience working with Cerner EMR.
  • Experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and testing computers and peripherals.
  • Experience with HP and/or Lenovo endpoints.
  • Experience deploying and supporting Windows 10 operating system images.
  • Experience troubleshooting wired and wireless connectivity.
  • Ability to install and troubleshoot monitors, barcode scanners, RFID badge readers, keyboards, mice, and related peripherals.
  • Ability to work 100% on-site in Stony Brook, NY.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to kneel, squat, work underneath desks, and climb a ladder when required.
  • Ability to provide and use basic tools required to assemble carts and computer equipment.
  • Ability to meet hospital immunization and credentialing requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

The technician will:

  • Maintain and repair approximately 800 mobile medical carts located across multiple hospital facilities.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to ensure carts remain operational.
  • Respond to support tickets submitted by hospital users.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hardware and endpoint issues.
  • Assemble and configure new medical carts.
  • Image new and reused PCs using the hospital’s approved Windows image.
  • Install computers, monitors, scanners, RFID readers, keyboards, mice, and other peripherals.
  • Configure wireless connectivity.
  • Troubleshoot Windows and computer-related issues.
  • Replace and monitor cart batteries as required.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of medical carts and their locations.
  • Track carts as they are moved between hospital locations.
  • Maintain and monitor spare-parts inventory.
  • Notify the appropriate IT team when replacement parts are running low.
  • Coordinate warranty repairs and replacement items with manufacturers.
  • Assist with securing medication carts in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Work with clinical and technical teams on cart modifications and equipment installations.
  • Support installation and configuration of scanners and other peripherals.
  • Participate in meetings as a technical advisor when requested.
  • Coordinate with hospital IT staff regarding replacement parts, quotations, and order status.
