Position: IBM Cognos Consultant
Location: Dallas, TX (Onsite)
Type: Contract (W2 Contract)
Required skills:
· 9+ years of hands-on IBM Cognos development experience (Report Studio, Framework Manager, Cognos Analytics 11/12)
· Strong proficiency in SQL across relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, or DB2) Experience with TM1 / IBM Planning Analytics and TI process development is highly preferred
· Solid understanding of dimensional modeling (star/snowflake schemas) and data warehouse concepts
· Familiarity with Cognos lifecycle management, deployment, and multi-environment promotion
· Exposure to LDAP/Active Directory integration and Cognos security model configuration
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience
· Design, develop, and maintain complex Cognos reports, dashboards, and scorecards using Report Studio, Analysis Studio, and Cognos Analytics (CA 11.x/12.x)
· Build and optimize Framework Manager data models, namespaces, and query subjects to support enterprise reporting needs
· Develop and manage TM1/Planning Analytics cubes, dimensions, and Turbo Integrator (TI) processes for financial and operational planning
· Translate complex business requirements into scalable, high-performance BI solutions with minimal oversight
Troubleshoot and resolve report performance issues, metadata layer defects, and data discrepancies across environments
· Partner with data warehouse and ETL teams to ensure reporting layer aligns with underlying dimensional and relational models
