R. Yoder Construction, Inc. is seeking a reliable, hard-working, deadline-driven Structural Engineer to join our team. The Structural Engineers’ responsibilities include working with designers to direct, analyze, and create structural drawings and details for new buildings, additions, and renovations.
To be successful in this position, you should demonstrate a sound understanding of CAD software, safety standards, and building codes. Be able to efficiently and effectively communicate design elements to clients and teammates.
Structural Engineer Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and analyze the structural components of buildings and other structures to ensure they are safe, stable, and can withstand various forces.
- Collaborate with architects to create building plans that integrate structural requirements with aesthetic and functional designs.
- Create plans and designs for structural elements, ensuring they can endure loads and stresses.
- Ensure that all designs adhere to national and local safety standards and building codes.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure that construction is performed as designed.
- Evaluate and recommend materials and construction techniques that offer the best performance and durability for the project.
- Perform risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Prepare and maintain all necessary documentation, including analysis findings, project progress reports, and compliance verifications.
Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
Experience in the construction industry required.
Professional Engineer License, or the ability to obtain it within a year from hire.
Proficiency with design analysis software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Project management skills for overseeing timelines, budgets, and resources.
Ability to focus and keep calm under pressure.
Ability to keep track of multiple projects.
Ability to work well in teams which includes collaboration with architectural designers, project managers, and site superintendents.
