Together, we advance your career. THE ROLE: AMD is seeking a lead systems engineer to drive the end-to-end design of complex, high-speed printed circuit boards and platform subsystems. You will own the schematic design and constraint definition for high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, DDR, USB, and Ethernet/SerDes; guide PCB layout teams; ensure SI/PI closure; and lead bring-up, validation, and release into production. This role requires deep collaboration with SI/PI, packaging, thermal/mechanical, firmware, and validation teams. As a senior technical leader, you will mentor peers and influence cross-functional decisions to deliver robust, high-performance designs.
THE PERSON:The ideal candidate is a highly collaborative and detail-oriented hardware engineering professional with deep experience in high-speed board design and system-level electrical engineering. They excel at taking complex platforms from concept to production, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills, technical leadership, and the ability to drive cross-functional alignment. This individual is comfortable owning schematics, defining layout constraints, performing SI/PI analysis, and guiding PCB layout teams to meet stringent electrical performance requirements. They have hands-on experience with board bring-up, debugging high-speed interfaces, validating system performance, and working closely with firmware, packaging, thermal/mechanical, and validation teams. The ideal person is proactive in identifying design risks, mentoring junior engineers, influencing architectural decisions, and ensuring that every platform meets AMD's quality, reliability, and performance expectations.
