Must be local (or relocate) as this is an onsite engagement. 

The manager prefers candidates who have experience using SAP, Sequel and Power BI.  And they must have supply chain and analytics experience (even if not 5 years)

Position Summary:
The Business Analyst III plays a critical role in the successful execution of the Company's Advanced Metering Initiative (AMI), a strategic 5 to 7-year transformation program. This position is responsible for leveraging operational and installation data to support material forecasting, performance reporting, and business intelligence across meter deployment activities. The primary focus of the role is to analyze work order data, identify material consumption trends during meter installations, and develop quarterly and annual forecasts to ensure adequate inventory planning and operational readiness.

The Business Analyst III will develop and maintain forecasting models, dashboards, and key performance indicators that provide visibility into material demand, inventory risk, and deployment readiness. Through collaboration with Supply Chain, Meter Operations, Field Services, and Program Leadership, the analyst will deliver actionable insights that help determine whether material inventories are "Good to Go," or "At Risk," requiring Management intervention to meet deployment objectives.

In addition to forecasting responsibilities, the analyst will support broader operational effectiveness initiatives by collecting, organizing, and analyzing data from active work orders and field activities related to meter installation, repair, and maintenance. The role will identify trends, performance gaps, and process improvement opportunities while helping standardize operational reporting across the gas operations organization.
As the AMI program matures, the Business Analyst III will expand into advanced analytics involving real-time smart meter data. This includes monitoring and interpreting pressure, temperature, leak indicators, and other meter telemetry to identify anomalies, assess asset health, and determine whether issues originate from network systems, communications infrastructure, or physical meter failures. The insights generated by this role will support proactive maintenance strategies, operational decision-making, and continuous improvement efforts across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
• Analyze work order and installation data to identify materials consumed during meter deployment activities.
• Develop quarterly and annual material demand forecasts to support inventory planning and procurement activities.
• Create and maintain forecasting models, dashboards, and performance metrics that measure material readiness and deployment risk.
• Establish reporting frameworks that classify inventory health and deployment readiness as "Good to Go," "At Risk," or other operational status indicators.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Operations, and Program Management teams to align forecasted demand with deployment schedules.
• Collect, organize, and analyze operational data related to meter installations, repairs, maintenance, and field activities.
• Develop reporting and analytics that measure productivity, quality, deployment performance, and operational efficiency.
• Identify trends, bottlenecks, process gaps, and opportunities for workflow standardization and performance improvement.
• Translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations for leadership and business stakeholders.
• Support the implementation of data governance, reporting standards, and analytics best practices across the AMI program.
• Analyze smart meter telemetry and operational data to identify anomalies, performance concerns, and emerging operational risks.
• Evaluate data from pressure, temperature, leak detection, and other sensor sources to support proactive monitoring and issue resolution.
• Partner with technical and operational teams to determine whether detected issues are attributable to network communications, system integrations, or physical meter conditions.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of advanced analytics capabilities that drive data-informed decision-making throughout the AMI lifecycle.

Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Analytics, Engineering, Information Systems, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in business analysis, operational analytics, forecasting, reporting, or related disciplines.
• Experience working with large datasets, work order management systems, and operational reporting environments.
• Proficiency with SAP, Power BI, SQL, Google BigQuery, Excel, and other data visualization and analytics tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Experience supporting utility operations, asset management, supply chain planning, AMI, or field service organizations preferred.
• Understanding of forecasting methodologies, KPI development, and process improvement principles.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within a large-scale, multi-year transformation program.
