What You’ll Do

  • Architect and sign off on comprehensive engineering designs for major transit and rail initiatives, accepting formal accountability for regulatory and technical compliance.

  • Champion the organization''s overarching professional engineering practice guidelines, supervising all subordinate technical workflows to maintain the highest quality standards.

  • Drive collaborative design strategy alongside senior technical leaders to foster innovative, robust, and reliable transit system architectures.

  • Synthesize complex project requirements by establishing clear, end-to-end traceability across all phases of engineering design, verification, and validation.

  • Maximize design integrity by managing the production of exhaustive technical documentation in strict alignment with rigorous quality frameworks.

  • Navigate critical stakeholder interfaces, serving as the principal engineering liaison between project teams, regulatory authorities, and external clients.

  • Steer multi-phase lifecycle support across engineering, construction, and deployment stages, delivering both high-level remote oversight and decisive field inspections.

  • Integrate specialized focus areas into core designs, focusing heavily on systems safety, security protocols, and operational maintainability.

  • Formulate accurate financial projections, labor estimations, and tender documentation to ensure competitive and precise project bids.

What You Bring

  • Credentials: Active Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration in British Columbia, with a residence allowing for close proximity to the Vancouver metropolitan area.

  • Experience: Advanced, progressive expertise steering engineering design, verification, validation, and full commissioning workflows within dedicated transit or rail environments.

  • Communications Infrastructure: Proficient technical knowledge of Public Address Systems, Passenger Information Signage Systems, Passenger Information Display Systems, and integrated Telephony Systems.

  • Security & Systems Integration: Demonstrated familiarity with CCTV installations and automated passenger-counting systems.

  • Life Safety & Compliance: Practical experience managing life safety systems and partnering directly with local emergency response agencies and Authorities Having Jurisdiction to build unified fire and emergency action frameworks.

  • Leadership Traits: Superior presentation skills paired with an agile, solution-oriented approach to handling conflicting priorities and complex multi-party interfaces.

Core Compensation

  • Competitive Base Salary: $105,000 - $150,000 CAD annually, commensurate with senior engineering experience and technical capabilities.
