The Senior DevOps Engineer
Remote (PST)
The Senior DevOps Engineer / Architect will act as a primary technical principal resource for Azure / AWS Cloud System Administration work in the DevOps team and is responsible for designing, provisioning, installing, configuring, maintaining, operating, and architecting Azure / AWS cloud environments. The candidate will work within a team in implementing and maintaining Azure / AWS cloud infrastructure. Looking for a candidate with exceptional Azure / AWS Cloud and DevOps skills and who should have extensive knowledge and experience in architecting, implementing, and using the Azure / AWS suite of services and Marketplace tools. Most importantly, the right individual will possess a positive, “can-do” attitude and a passion for delivering technical solutions in a fast-paced environment, supporting the long-term IT strategy.
Must-have Skills:
- Exceptional experience/skillset in Azure Cloud and Architecture
- Exceptional experience/skillset in Azure Cloud automation/deployment
- Exceptional experience/skillset in managing Azure cloud infrastructure (i.e., maintenance, support, compliance, security, data protection, DR, high availability, backup, monitoring, patching, cloud governance, etc.)
- Strong technical / people skills working with cross-functional teams
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- 10+ years of overall IT experience
- 5+ years of Azure / AWS Cloud management experience with the below skill set
- Azure / AWS Certified DevOps and/or Solution Architect certification
- Excellent knowledge of Linux systems and Windows systems
- Extensive experience in Azure / AWS provisioning, operations, and management of cloud environments
- Extensive experience with Azure / AWS solutions using cloud native services
- Extensive knowledge of IaC (Infrastructure as Code)
- Extensive experience in cloud automation (i.e IaC)
- Experience in blue-green deployment
- Experience setting up alerts/alarms/notifications in the cloud
- Experience setting up / maintaining multi-AZ infrastructure, including HA and DR.
- Experience in supporting a Hybrid cloud environment
- Experience with JSON and YAML scripting
- Experience with code repositories and deployment tools (i.e. GitHub and GitHub Action)
- Experience with Terraform
- Experience with PowerShell scripting
- Experience with Linux Shells
- Experience with Python scripting
- Strong grasp on configuration management
- High-level understanding of networking standard protocols and components such as: HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, ICMP, the OSI Model, Subnetting and Load Balancing
- Experience with Application Security Testing tools a plus
- Strong scripting skills in wsadmin, Jacl, Jython, Shell, PowerShell, and VB Script
- Understanding of basic SQL, PL/SQL, and T-SQL commands
- Experience with Kafka, Docker, Container Orchestration Engine such as Kubernetes is a plus
- Strong troubleshooting and analysis skills
- Willing and capable of mentoring others and leading by example.
- Thorough knowledge of managing Windows Operating Systems in a virtualized environment
- Thorough understanding of and experience with managing web applications in a highly available environment
- Strong background in networking, load balancing, and firewalls
- Experience in Software development is a plus
- Minimum of 5 years of Windows / Linux system administration experience with Windows Server and deep knowledge of OS upgrades and migration
- Familiarity with deploying and configuring Java and .Net applications.
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as AWS and Azure
