Plastic Injection Mold Maker / Toolmaker who can independently
build, fit, assemble, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot complex plastic injection molds.

This is a hands-on mold-making position for someone who understands the complete mold system and can independently diagnose tooling problems, determine the appropriate repair, perform precision toolroom and bench work, and return molds to production-ready condition.
Direct plastic injection mold-making experience is required. This is not a CNC-only machining position.What You\'ll DoBuild, fit, spot, assemble, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot precision plastic injection molds.Independently diagnose mold problems, determine required repairs, and return tooling to production-ready condition.Troubleshoot flash, parting lines, shutoffs, venting, ejection, cooling, water leaks, wear, alignment, and complex mold actions.Fit, repair, and replace cores, cavities, inserts, slides, lifters, ejector systems, leader pins, bushings, and related mold components.Perform precision bench work, fitting, spotting, polishing, and mold assembly.Perform preventive maintenance, mold refurbishment, and engineering changes.Verify proper mold fit, alignment, cooling, ejection, and mechanical movement.Support mold trials, sampling, qualification, and tooling troubleshooting at the molding machine.Use mills, lathes, grinders, EDM, and other toolroom equipment to build, repair, or modify mold components.Inspect components and verify critical dimensions and tolerances using precision measuring equipment.Read and interpret mold drawings, blueprints, engineering drawings, and dimensional specifications.Partner with Processing, Engineering, Production, Maintenance, and Tooling to resolve problems and improve mold performance.Document repairs, modifications, preventive maintenance, and tooling improvements.Mentor less-experienced tooling personnel and share mold-making best practices.Maintain a safe, clean, and organized toolroom.Job Qualifications
What You Need5+ years of hands-on injection mold-making or toolmaking experience supporting plastic injection molding.Demonstrated experience building, repairing, maintaining, fitting, assembling, and troubleshooting plastic injection molds.Strong understanding of injection mold construction, operation, and common failure modes.Hands-on experience with:- Cores and cavities
- Mold inserts
- Slides and lifters
- Ejector pins and ejector systems
- Cooling and water circuits
- Parting lines and shutoffs
- Leader pins and bushings
- Mold actions and mechanical components
Strong precision fitting, spotting, polishing, bench work, and mold assembly skills.Ability to independently diagnose tooling problems and determine the appropriate repair.Ability to read mold drawings, blueprints, engineering drawings, and dimensional specifications.Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment.Ability to operate manual and CNC toolroom equipment as needed to support mold building and repair.Ability to independently work on complex tooling while maintaining a high level of precision and craftsmanship.Cores and cavitiesMold insertsSlides and liftersEjector pins and ejector systemsCooling and water circuitsParting lines and shutoffsLeader pins and bushingsMold actions and mechanical componentsImportant: This position requires direct, hands-on experience with
plastic injection molds. CNC machining experience alone, without significant experience building, repairing, and troubleshooting injection molds, does not meet the requirements.
Additional Experience We Value
