Summary

Job Description

This role serves as the Product Operations Lead for Mayo Clinic's Cloud Platforms, partnering closely with the Principal Product Manager for Cloud Services to ensure strategy, priorities, and leadership direction result in consistent, predictable execution across the cloud product portfolio (e.g., Azure, Google Cloud, AI/ML platforms, HPC, and shared cloud foundations).

The Product Operations Lead is accountable for the operational execution model of Cloud Services - not product ownership. This role enables delivery by establishing operating cadence, coordinating across product, engineering, architecture, operations, security, and finance teams, and maintaining leadership-ready product artifacts. The focus is on execution rigor, transparency, and follow-through within Mayo's Cloud Product Operating Model.

This role does not overlap with the Principal Product Manager.

The Principal Product Manager owns product strategy, roadmap direction, and stakeholder alignment.
The Product Operations Lead owns execution mechanics, operational discipline, and cross-team coordination, ensuring decisions translate into clear plans, tracked commitments, and measurable outcomes.

This position is ideal for a senior IT professional who understands Mayo's enterprise environment and thrives at the intersection of cloud platforms, product management, and operational execution - bringing structure, clarity, and momentum to complex, multi-team initiatives.

The IT Senior Cloud Engineer ensures that enterprise cloud solutions are optimized for cost and functionality and is responsible for execution of the cloud / infrastructure strategy set by architects. Develops internal and external compatibility of the system and subsystems. Develops highly complex scripts using a tool or combination of tools to automate a task or a series of tasks. Develops, complies, and may oversee team compliance with SLAs or OLAs. Documents new or modified solutions, installation instructions and other system-related information. Writes configuration for cloud platforms leveraging appropriate tools. Collaborates with developers and is responsible for the "Ops" part of DevOps. Develops and may maintain tools and frameworks that other teams use to smoothly develop their applications. Uses technology to implement automation and orchestration. Leads the implementation and integration of cloud solutions and technologies across business and IT functions, products, and platforms. Proactively seeks new ways to integrate cloud solutions with existing enterprise tools and systems. Responsible for compliance of cloud solutions to architectural standards. Leads evaluations of enterprise cloud technology standards, tools, products, and solutions to identify opportunities for improvement. Partners with security staff to ensure Cloud solutions support maintenance of a secure technology environment. Responsible for planning and validating the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Cloud solutions. Implements governance for role-based access control (RBAC), cost containment and cloud provider account management. Develops time and cost estimates for cloud solutions. Creates and determines Cloud systems specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. Evaluates technical requirements to determine the impact of Cloud technologies on the infrastructure including equipment redundancy and capacity requirements. Creates the physical design for cloud-based solutions for infrastructure and platforms.

This vacancy is not eligible for sponsorship/ we will not sponsor or transfer visas for this position. Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
