THE PERSON:
You're a highly motivated team player with a strong wireless product or chipset background, problem solving mentality, excellent communication skills, ability to prioritize tasks along with willingness to learn and adapt. Excellent teamwork skills and capable of working independently.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own validation of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth features across AMD PC platforms, including functional, performance, stability, interoperability, and regression testing.
- Create and execute detailed test plans covering connectivity, throughput, roaming, coexistence, latency, audio quality, power management, and user scenarios.
- Validate system-level integration of WLAN/BT modules with AMD silicon, firmware, chipset features, PCIe interfaces, and platform-level power states.
- Debug wireless issues at the driver, firmware, hardware, and protocol layers using tools such as packet sniffers, RF analyzers, and platform logs.
- Perform RF coexistence testing between Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, RF peripherals, and other AMD subsystems (PCIe, NVMe, GPU workloads, USB, etc.) that would cause in-band RF interference.
- Collaborate with OEMs and module partners to reproduce issues, collect logs, verify fixes, and drive resolutions for pre- and post-silicon platforms.
- Develop automated test scripts using Python or similar frameworks to accelerate regression and performance testing.
- Generate detailed validation reports, track issues in Jira or similar systems, and present findings to cross-functional teams.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Prior, recent years of hands-on experience validating Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth on PC, embedded, or consumer electronics platforms.
- Strong understanding of IEEE 802.11 protocols (a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be) and Bluetooth Classic/LE, including audio profiles.
- Strong understanding of RF design principles, as it applies to board level design for optimal wireless signal integrity.
- Experience with wireless test tools such as iPerf, and RF test chambers.
- Experience with packet-level analysis tools such as Wireshark.
- Familiarity with non-signaling, and signaling test equipment from Octoscope, Spirent, Rohde & Schwarz, and Keysight, as well as power consumption equipment from Monsoon, and National Instruments.
- Familiarity with Python or other scripting languages.
