Role: Epic Lumens Build Analyst  - W2 Role

Location: Primarily Remote (Must be available for onsite Go-Live support beginning July 2027)

Department: Information Technology / Clinical Applications

Reports To: Epic Applications Manager / Director, Clinical Systems

 

Position Summary

The Epic Lumens Build Analyst is responsible for the design, configuration, testing, implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of the Epic Lumens application within a healthcare environment. This role collaborates closely with gastroenterology, endoscopy, surgery, anesthesia, nursing, revenue cycle, and operational teams to ensure Epic Lumens effectively supports clinical workflows, regulatory compliance, patient safety, and quality patient care.

The analyst will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for Epic Lumens and related Epic applications, providing application build expertise, workflow analysis, troubleshooting, optimization, and end-user support. This position will also participate in system upgrades, implementations, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

 

Key Responsibilities

Epic Lumens Application Support

  • Design, configure, build, test, and maintain Epic Lumens functionality to support clinical and operational needs.
  • Analyze existing workflows and recommend system enhancements to improve efficiency, quality, and user satisfaction.
  • Configure templates, procedure records, documentation tools, preference lists, charge capture workflows, reporting work queues, and related application components.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, procedural staff, and leadership to optimize endoscopy and gastroenterology workflows.

System Implementation & Optimization

  • Participate in new implementations, upgrades, system conversions, and optimization initiatives.
  • Gather, analyze, and document business and clinical requirements.
  • Translate operational requirements into Epic build specifications and technical solutions.
  • Develop and execute testing plans including unit testing, integrated testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Support go-live activities and post-implementation stabilization efforts.

Integration & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with analysts supporting Epic Ambulatory, Orders, OpTime, Anesthesia, ASAP, Cadence, Prelude, Resolute, MyChart, and other integrated Epic applications.
  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, technical, and vendor teams to ensure seamless workflow integration.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary project teams, governance committees, and optimization initiatives.

Production Support

  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues, incidents, and service requests.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor application performance and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Adhere to organizational change management and support processes.

Documentation & Training

  • Create and maintain application documentation, build records, workflow diagrams, and support materials.
  • Assist with end-user training and knowledge transfer activities.
  • Support education initiatives related to new functionality and workflow changes.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Ensure application configuration supports regulatory, accreditation, quality, and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with reporting validation and data integrity initiatives.
  • Support audits, system reviews, and compliance activities as required.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor''''''''s degree in Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Business, or a related field.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Experience

  • Minimum 3+ years of Epic Application Analyst experience within a healthcare environment.
  • Hands-on experience supporting Epic Lumens implementations, optimization efforts, and production support.
  • Strong experience with requirements gathering, workflow analysis, application build, testing, and go-live support.
  • Knowledge of endoscopy, gastroenterology, procedural, or surgical workflows preferred.

Certifications

  • Current Epic Lumens Certification (Required).
  • Additional Epic certifications are highly preferred.
