Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Coupa Automation Consultant to assess, optimize, and enhance the existing Coupa Procure-to-Pay (P2P) environment. The consultant will work closely with Procurement, Finance, Accounts Payable, and IT stakeholders to streamline purchasing processes, improve automation, implement AI-enabled capabilities, and strengthen integrations with finance and enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Current-State Assessment
Review existing Coupa P2P configuration, including requisitions, punchout, approval chains, PO generation, invoicing, and integrations.
Assess workflows, custom fields, business rules, roles, permissions, and supplier onboarding.
Analyze P2P metrics, including cycle times, touchless invoice rates, PO compliance, approval bottlenecks, and exception volumes.
Identify process gaps, manual workarounds, and underutilized Coupa features.
Process Improvement & Optimization
Develop a prioritized roadmap for automation and optimization opportunities.
Recommend configuration changes, workflow redesign, and standard Coupa functionality.
Benchmark processes against procurement and P2P best practices.
Business Engagement
Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, AP, and IT stakeholders.
Conduct workshops, gather requirements, validate solutions, and resolve business trade-offs.
Present recommendations and secure stakeholder sign-off.
Implementation & Change Delivery
Configure and implement Coupa approval workflows, forms, automation rules, and dashboards.
Prepare functional and technical design documents, test plans, and UAT scripts.
Support testing, deployment, hypercare, release governance, and change management.
Develop user guides, training materials, and handover documentation.
AI & Automation Implementation
Evaluate and implement Coupa AI-driven capabilities, including intelligent invoice capture, spend and anomaly detection, supplier risk insights, guided buying, and recommendations.
Define AI use cases, data readiness requirements, success metrics, and responsible AI guardrails.
Track adoption and measurable business benefits.
Purchasing Journey & Integration Enhancement
Improve the end-to-end purchasing experience from requisition through approval, contract management, and PO processing.
Review and enhance integrations with Finance, Contract Management, and other enterprise systems.
Eliminate siloed processes, integration errors, and operational bottlenecks.
Define and monitor KPIs for adoption, compliance, and automation.
Required Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in procurement or finance systems.
5+ years of hands-on experience with Coupa P2P implementation, configuration, or optimization.
Proven experience delivering Coupa enhancement and optimization projects end to end.
Strong understanding of Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes and controls.
Hands-on experience with Coupa workflows, approval chains, custom fields, forms, content groups, roles, and permissions.
Experience implementing or evaluating AI/automation features in procurement or finance platforms.
Strong stakeholder management and business communication skills.
Excellent documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Coupa certification (P2P, Admin, or Integration).
Knowledge of RPA, low-code, or workflow automation tools.
Familiarity with SOX, audit, and compliance controls in P2P.
Experience with change management, user adoption, and training delivery.
Agile or hybrid project delivery experience.
