## Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support an established software development team. The Business Analyst will collaborate with business users, customers, developers, testers, and the project team lead to ensure that software applications meet business, functional, accessibility, and quality requirements.
The ideal candidate will have experience gathering and documenting requirements, creating Agile user stories, conducting system testing, supporting production applications, and resolving customer-reported issues. This position also requires strong written communication, organization, documentation, and customer-support skills.
## Key Responsibilities
* Work closely with business stakeholders, customers, developers, testers, and project leadership to understand business needs.
* Gather, analyze, validate, and document business and functional requirements.
* Translate stakeholder needs into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, tasks, and defects.
* Create and maintain work items in Azure DevOps or a comparable Agile lifecycle management platform.
* Participate in Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
* Facilitate or participate in requirements-gathering workshops and stakeholder meetings.
* Develop business requirements documentation, project initiation documentation, process flows, use cases, and supporting materials.
* Document functional, user, business, and non-functional requirements.
* Define requirements related to performance, security, usability, scalability, accessibility, and quality of service.
* Develop test scenarios, test cases, test scripts, and expected results based on documented requirements.
* Conduct functional, integration, regression, and full-system testing.
* Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects through resolution.
* Support automated testing activities using tools such as Selenium.
* Assist with user acceptance testing and coordinate issue resolution with business and technical teams.
* Support production applications and investigate customer-reported issues.
* Communicate system issues, requirements, risks, and resolutions clearly to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
* Test and document software application accessibility requirements, including WCAG 2.1 standards.
* Develop user guides, training materials, process documentation, and system-support resources.
* Assist with end-user training and other Business Analyst activities as assigned.
## Required Qualifications
* Minimum of two years of experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements.
* Minimum of two years of experience developing formal business requirements documentation.
* Minimum of two years of experience conducting full-system and functional software testing.
* Minimum of two years of experience supporting software applications in a production environment.
* Experience investigating and resolving customer-reported application issues.
* Knowledge of formal requirements-gathering and business-analysis methodologies.
* Experience developing business, functional, user, and non-functional requirements.
* Experience creating test cases and validating software functionality against documented requirements.
* Strong written, verbal, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
* Ability to communicate effectively with customers, end users, developers, testers, and project leadership.
* Ability to manage multiple assignments, priorities, requirements, and defects simultaneously.
## Highly Desired Qualifications
* Experience working as a Business Analyst within a Scrum or Agile software development team.
* Experience creating and managing user stories, tasks, acceptance criteria, and bugs in Azure DevOps.
* Experience participating in facilitated requirements-analysis workshops.
* Experience with automated testing practices and tools such as Selenium.
* Experience testing or documenting software accessibility requirements.
* Familiarity with WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards.
* Previous experience supporting Commonwealth of Pennsylvania projects or other public-sector organizations.
* Experience developing user guides, training documentation, and end-user training materials.
## Work Location Requirements
This is primarily a remote position. However, the selected candidate must:
* Reside within approximately two hours of the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania region.
* Report onsite at the beginning of the contract to receive and inventory issued equipment.
* Report onsite at the end of the contract to return the equipment and confirm its condition.
* Be able to transport the issued equipment personally, as equipment will not be mailed or accepted through shipping services.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented Business Analyst who understands the complete software development lifecycle and can confidently move between stakeholder communication, requirements documentation, system testing, defect management, production support, and end-user training. The candidate should be comfortable working independently in a remote environment while remaining actively engaged with an Agile development team.
