Description

We are looking for a Software Development Project Manager to lead technology initiatives for a services environment in Houston, Texas. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is suited for someone who can coordinate cross-functional engineering efforts, keep delivery plans on track, and maintain strong oversight of quality, budget, and team resources. The ideal candidate brings a structured approach to project execution and can translate business priorities into organized, measurable development outcomes.

Responsibilities:
Build and manage project roadmaps that align timelines, milestones, and delivery goals for software development initiatives.
Coordinate resource planning across technical teams to ensure the right skills and capacity are assigned to each phase of work.
Oversee project execution within financial system-related initiatives, tracking progress, risks, and budget considerations.
Partner with engineering stakeholders to define priorities, resolve blockers, and maintain momentum throughout the development lifecycle.
Establish quality control practices that support reliable releases, consistent standards, and successful project outcomes.
Monitor project health through regular status updates, issue management, and clear communication with leadership and stakeholders.
Facilitate collaboration between business and technical teams to clarify requirements and support effective decision-making.
Identify delivery risks early and implement mitigation strategies to protect scope, schedule, and overall project success.

Requirements

Proven experience managing software development projects from planning through delivery.
Strong ability to create rollout plans and guide teams through structured implementation activities.
Demonstrated skill in resource allocation across multiple workstreams and competing priorities.
Familiarity with financial system projects or technology initiatives supporting finance-related operations.
Working knowledge of quality control methods within software delivery environments.
Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams and communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project tracking skills in fast-paced settings.
