Job Summary
The client is seeking an experienced Database Administrator Level 3 to support database administration initiatives within its IT environment. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing database systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
This role requires strong expertise in DB2 databases, system environments, and scripting, along with the ability to work in a hybrid environment supporting mission-critical public safety systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain DB2 database environments
- Manage database performance, tuning, and optimization
- Handle database installation, configuration, and upgrades
- Monitor database health, security, and availability
- Support DB2 licensing and Passport Advantage processes
- Perform troubleshooting and resolve database-related issues
- Work with AIX/UNIX/Linux platforms for database operations
- Develop and maintain shell scripts for automation and maintenance
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with security and operational standards
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience with:
- DB2 Databases
- DB2 Licensing / Passport Advantage
- 2+ years of experience with:
- AIX / UNIX / Linux platforms
- Shell scripting / programming
- Strong database administration and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with DB2 on AIX
