Summary

Koniag Data Solutions, LLC a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Cloud Engineer/ Architect- Generative AI Integration with a Secret Security clearance to support KDS and our government customer at Ft. McNair, DC. The position is onsite with possibly hybrid availability.

Koniag Data Solutions is seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer/Architect to support KDS and our government customer in modernizing a large-scale document management and search platform. This role is central to integrating generative AI and emerging cloud technologies into a mission-critical application hosted in the cArmy cloud environment. The ideal candidate combines strong full-stack development skills with hands-on cloud architecture experience and a proven ability to deliver AI-powered solutions in secure, regulated environments.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy next-generation applications and services within the army cloud environment
  • Optimize performance, search, and indexing capabilities for a 100M+ document repository, including speed improvements, metadata tagging, and usability enhancements
  • Lead the integration of generative AI and machine learning capabilities to improve document indexing, metadata management, search relevance, and user access
  • Leverage emerging technologies to enhance data architecture and system scalability
  • Provide general system administration, maintenance, and support, including security accreditation and help desk escalation support
  • Implement and maintain cloud security controls including access management, encryption, and compliance with applicable security standards

Required Qualifications:

Clearance Requirement:
  • Active Secret Security Clearance

Cloud & Architecture:
  • Expert-level proficiency with AWS, and Azure; familiarity with cArmy Cloud strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of cloud security principles and the ability to implement access controls, encryption, and related safeguards
  • Experience integrating systems and services via APIs, microservices, and event-driven architecture
  • Solid understanding of cloud database management, data modeling, querying, and optimization

Generative AI & Emerging Technology:
  • Demonstrated experience integrating generative AI into production applications
  • Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks and data pipeline architectures supporting large-scale document repositories

Development & DevSecOps:
  • Proficiency in Python and Java; experience with JavaScript frameworks (Node.js, Express, Angular)
  • Web development skills including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Proficiency with version control systems (Git, Subversion, CVS)
  • Experience with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipeline design and management
  • Proficiency with modern IDEs such as Visual Studio Code
  • Ability to write efficient, scalable, and maintainable code
  • Ability to design and build intuitive, user-friendly interfaces

Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid government environment

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related field
