Senior Automation Lead/ Architect Infrastructure & Database Patching

Location : Berkley Heights, NJ (Onsite)

Experience Level:

• 13-15 years of experience
• 7+ years in automation or infrastructure automation roles

JD :

• Design and implement automated patching frameworks for:
  • Oracle (including RAC & Exadata)
  • SQL Server
  • IBM Db2
  • MongoDB, MySQL / MariaDB, PostgreSQL & Cassandra
• Develop endtoend patching pipelines including:
  • Version discovery
  • Prechecks/postchecks
  • Compliance validation
  • Reporting and dashboards
• Build and maintain Automation Workflowsusing Rundeck, Ansible, Terraform, MFO, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps
• Develop reusable automation frameworks and templates for infrastructure operations.
• Create and maintain scripts using Pythonand other scripting languages (Shell, PowerShell).
• Integrate automation workflows with monitoring, scheduling, and orchestration
• Integrate patching automation with CMDB, service management, and change controlworkflows (ServiceNow preferred).
• Collaborate with OS, Database, and Security teams to ensure compliant and scalable automation.
• Troubleshoot automation failures and optimize existing automation processes.
• Document automation designs, workflows, and operational procedures.

Mandatory Skills:

• Automation Tools:
  • Ansible (playbooks, roles, inventories)
  • Rundeck (job orchestration, scheduling)
  • Terraform, GitLab CI/CD
  • MFO (Managed File Processing / relevant enterprise automation tool)
• Programming & Scripting:
  • Python (strong hands-on experience)
  • Shell scripting (Bash) and/or PowerShell
• Automation Expertise:
  • Proven experience implementing patching automation solutions
  • Automation for large-scale enterprise environments

Added Advantage (Good to Have):

• Strong knowledge of Operating Systems:
  • Linux (RHEL, Oracle Linux, Ubuntu)
  • Windows Server
• Database Knowledge:
  • Oracle, DB2, PostgreSQL, or other enterprise databases
  • Understanding of database patching concepts
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines or DevOps tools
• Exposure to monitoring and alerting tools
• Knowledge of security and compliance requirements related to patching
