Summary

Job Title: Performance Test Engineer Duration: 6+ Months (Extendable)
Location: Okemos, MI

Work Authorization

    New SPOC through vendor. W2 candidates are preferred but open to C2C.
    There will be an internal Zoom evaluation from the vendor side before client submission.

    Location & Candidate Preference

    • Strong preference for local candidates
    • Candidates from nearby states such as OH, IL, WI, KY, IN, and surrounding areas are acceptable

    • Senior-Level Role
    • Ideal target: 7 10 years of relevant experience

    Interview Process

    1. Round 1: Video Interview (Internal Evaluation Vendor)
    2. Final Round: Face-to-Face (F2F) at Client Location

    Candidates must be willing to attend the in-person final interview.
    Travel and related expenses must be borne by the candidate (No reimbursement from client/vendor).

    Role Summary

    • Lead and execute performance testing and engineering initiatives
    • Ensure scalability, reliability, and optimal system performance in cloud-native and Kubernetes environments
    • Promote performance engineering best practices across teams

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Design and lead comprehensive performance testing strategies (Load, Stress, Peak testing)
    • Build, execute, and optimize complex JMeter scripts simulating real-world scenarios
    • Monitor applications using Dynatrace (response time, throughput, resource utilization)
    • Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins)
    • Conduct capacity planning and scalability analysis
    • Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot applications in Kubernetes environments
    • Maintain version control using Bitbucket
    • Collaborate with Dev, DevOps, and Ops teams to resolve bottlenecks
    • Generate detailed performance reports and dashboards
    • Conduct root cause analysis using APM tools
    • Drive performance engineering culture and continuous improvement
    • Participate in PI planning sessions and align performance targets

    Required Skills / Qualifications

    • Bachelor s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
    • 7+ years of performance testing & monitoring experience
    • 5+ years of hands-on application development experience
    • Strong expertise in JMeter
    • Strong experience with Dynatrace (or similar APM tools)
    • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (autoscaling, tuning, optimization)
    • Experience integrating performance testing into Jenkins CI/CD pipelines
    • Experience with Bitbucket (or similar VCS tools)
    • Strong knowledge of Databases, SQL, and Linux
    • Experience working in Agile / SAFe environments
