Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Power BI Developer to support a large-scale Business Intelligence initiative. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Power BI development, data modeling, DAX, dashboard creation, and report optimization. This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, data analysts, and technical teams to design and deliver high-quality BI solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience with Power BI Development and dashboard creation.
• Expertise in DAX, calculated measures, calculated columns, and custom calculations.
• Experience building and maintaining semantic data models and implementing Row-Level Security (RLS).
• Strong understanding of data modeling, including conceptual, logical, and physical models.
• Experience connecting Power BI to multiple data sources such as:
• SQL Databases
• APIs
• Google BigQuery
• Excel
• ArcGIS layers
• Streaming datasets
• Experience with Power BI Service, report publishing, workspace management, access control, and refresh scheduling.
• Performance tuning experience using DAX Studio, Power BI Performance Analyzer, and best-practice methodologies.
• Advanced Excel skills including:
• Complex formulas
• Pivot Tables
• Data analysis
• Reverse engineering existing business processes
• Experience with Azure DevOps and version control practices.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ArcGIS visualizations and integrations.
• Familiarity with Tabular Editor and Best Practice Analyzer.
• Exposure to AI tools and AI-assisted analytics solutions.
• Experience working in Agile environments and participating in backlog grooming and requirement-gathering sessions.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze business requirements from stakeholders.
• Design and develop interactive Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Create scalable and reusable semantic data models.
• Develop DAX measures and optimize report performance.
• Integrate Power BI with various internal and external data sources.
• Implement security models and governance standards.
• Collaborate with business users and technical teams to deliver data-driven solutions.
• Present insights and reports to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support deployment, maintenance, and enhancement of BI solutions.

Must-Have Screening Criteria

• 5+ years of Power BI development experience.
• Strong DAX and data modeling skills.
• Experience with Power BI Service administration.
• Experience with Azure DevOps.
• Ability to work within Colorado or relocate prior to the project start date.
