Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior IT Systems Analyst with advanced expertise in Epic SER and Provider Records to support a fully remote healthcare IT environment. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience managing provider records, troubleshooting complex provider data issues, resolving incidents, and working closely with technical and business stakeholders.
This role requires a highly independent professional who can manage multiple priorities, analyze complex system and data issues, support change and testing activities, and contribute to continuous improvement of provider data processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and troubleshoot Epic SER/Provider Records and related provider data.
- Work with Login Blueprints and SER Blueprints to support provider record configuration and maintenance.
- Manage provider information related to ePrescribing/Surescripts, External Directories, Care Teams, and Record Merges.
- Triage, investigate, and resolve incidents and service requests during business hours.
- Analyze complex provider data issues and determine appropriate solutions with minimal supervision.
- Communicate effectively with technical teams, business users, and other stakeholders regarding system issues and resolutions.
- Perform requirements gathering, documentation, testing, change control, and implementation activities.
- Support Epic Security, including User/SER record integration and Provider Maintenance Security.
- Work with external and referring provider records, including addresses and organization records.
- Collaborate on interfaces and integrations, including exposure to Epic Bridges.
- Apply master data management principles involving source-of-truth ownership, provider/identity matching, duplicate management, data synchronization, and data governance.
- Use Clarity/SQL for analysis and troubleshooting when required.
- Contribute to process improvements, standards, tools, templates, and methodologies.
- Participate in project planning, risk identification, issue resolution, quality assurance, and change management.
- Facilitate communication between business stakeholders, technical teams, and IT leadership.
- Support department initiatives involving automation and emerging AI tools where applicable.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and ensure adherence to established IT processes and controls.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of technology or business administration experience.
- Strong experience working in healthcare technology environments.
- Advanced hands-on experience with Epic SER / Provider Records.
- Epic Provider Administration Badge – REQUIRED.
- Experience with SER Blueprints and Login Blueprints.
- Strong incident, problem, and ticket-resolution experience.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- Experience with documentation, change control, testing, and implementation processes.
Strongly Preferred
- Epic Security Certification.
- Experience with Epic User/SER record integration and Provider Maintenance Security.
- Experience with Clarity/SQL.
- Knowledge of Epic Bridges/interfaces and integrations.
- Experience with external/referring provider records.
- Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM) principles and provider data governance.
- Experience with duplicate provider/identity management and data synchronization.
- Familiarity with external data sources/feeds such as MDM, QuARQ, and MD-Staff.
- Experience with ServiceNow.
- Familiarity with AI tools, automation, or process optimization.
- Experience working in committee-driven or consensus-based healthcare organizations.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts, business processes, continuous improvement, and organizational development.
