IT Infrastructure Network Engineer (CCNP or CCIE)

The IT Infrastructure Network Engineer will lead critical network initiatives from design through implementation, optimization, and troubleshooting. This role requires expert-level proficiency in Cisco switching, routing, wireless, and voice technologies, along with hands-on experience supporting Unified Threat Management solutions and next-generation firewall and security appliances. The engineer will strengthen network reliability and security, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and provide technical leadership to junior network staff. This position plays a critical role in supporting robust and secure operations across the organization.

Location: Long Beach, California
Work Type: Hybrid - 2-3 days per week onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Lead multiple network projects as an engineer, providing strategic oversight and technical guidance from design through implementation and troubleshooting.


• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco network equipment, including switches, routers, wireless systems, and voice systems.


• Implement, maintain, and optimize modern Unified Threat Management solutions and next-generation firewall and security appliances to safeguard network integrity and data security.


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network solutions align with organizational objectives and industry best practices.


• Develop, document, and enforce network policies and procedures that promote operational excellence and security compliance.


• Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior network staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Qualifications

Required:

Education, Skills & Desirable Certification(s):
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
Skills and Experience
(Listed in order of importance (i.e., the most important is first))

• Extensive background in Cisco switching and routing


• Extensive background and experience with Cisco wireless, or equivalent.


• Hands-on expertise with modern UTM and next-generation firewall / security appliances.\


• Demonstrated experience with Network Access Control Systems and principles


• Demonstrated experience with network management and SNMP monitoring tools


• Proven experience in leading network engineering of large-scale network projects


• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and time and project management skills (from an
  engineer perspective vs. project manager).


• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to
  non-technical stakeholders.

Certifications (preferred):

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or higher (e.g., CCIE)


• Relevant certifications in UTM or next-generation firewall technologies

Additional Details

The base range for this contract position is $75 - $85 / per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered.
