Position Overview

The SAP IBP Senior Application Analyst will be responsible for SAP systems design, configuration, and continuous improvement, with a primary focus on SAP IBP (Integrated Business Planning). This role serves as a key support contact for SAP application end-users, ensuring efficient issue resolution, system enhancements, and alignment with business forecasting and planning processes.

The analyst will perform impact analysis, build and test system changes, and identify opportunities to improve business workflows. Additionally, this role will act as a mentor to junior analysts and contribute to cross-functional collaboration across SAP modules and business teams.

 

Key Responsibilities

SAP IBP & Application Support

  • Act as the primary support contact for SAP IBP forecasting and planning applications
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues impacting IBP and integrated SAP systems
  • Provide end-user production support through issue tracking systems

System Design & Configuration

  • Design, configure, and enhance SAP IBP and related applications
  • Perform impact analysis and implement system changes aligned with business needs
  • Independently manage development and configuration of assigned applications

Process Improvement & Innovation

  • Identify opportunities to improve forecasting and planning workflows using SAP IBP
  • Develop new processes and procedures to address business challenges
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within IT and business processes

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and SAP vendors to ensure alignment
  • Translate business requirements into scalable SAP solutions
  • Provide regular updates on project and issue status to leadership

Technical Leadership & Mentorship

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SAP IBP and related modules
  • Mentor junior analysts and delegate tasks where required
  • Lead estimation and execution of enhancement and support requests

Testing & Documentation

  • Configure, test, and validate system changes
  • Maintain accurate system documentation and training materials
  • Participate in end-user training and knowledge transfer sessions

 

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong expertise in SAP IBP (Integrated Business Planning) – MANDATORY
  • Experience with SAP modules such as Production Planning (PP) and integrations
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional and matrix environment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong ownership mindset with proactive problem-solving approach

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
    OR
    High School Diploma/GED with 10+ years of relevant experience (in lieu of degree)
  • 10+ years of experience in SAP application support, configuration, or project delivery
  • Proven ability to understand and apply industry best practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with SAP IBP (Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Forecasting)
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA and SAP Cloud solutions
  • Knowledge of SAP Fiori and user experience enhancements
  • Understanding of SAP Security architecture and implementation
  • Experience in Life Sciences, Healthcare, or related industries

 

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights/weekends as needed
  • Ability to travel up to 5% (including occasional overnight travel)
  • Ability to work on computer systems for extended periods (~90% of the day)
  • Strong adaptability to changing business needs and technologies
