Guidewire Business Analyst
Summary
This role will partner with insurance business teams and technology groups to shape and deliver solutions across the Guidewire platform. The Guidewire Business Analyst will focus on aligning policy, billing, and claims processes while ensuring system configurations support business operations. Solid P&C insurance knowledge and hands-on Guidewire experience are essential.
Responsibilities
- Elicit and document business and functional needs across Guidewire modules.
- Define end-to-end workflows for policy administration, billing, and claims.
- Convert operational requirements into user stories, functional designs, and acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate with development and testing teams to validate configurations and integrations.
- Assess downstream impacts of enhancements, upgrades, and cross-platform changes.
- Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning support, and user acceptance testing sessions.
- Coordinate with integration and data teams to maintain consistency across systems.
- Maintain detailed documentation for processes, configurations, and deployment support.
- Track defects and support testing through implementation and ongoing maintenance.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, usability, and system performance.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience working as a Business Analyst within P&C insurance.
- Experience supporting Guidewire applications directly across multiple functional areas.
- Solid understanding of insurance policy, billing, and claims lifecycles.
- Proven ability to translate business needs into delivery-ready documentation.
- Experience supporting Agile teams and iterative delivery models.
- Working knowledge of SQL for validation and basic troubleshooting.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Preferred
- Guidewire certifications in business analysis or core modules.
- Experience supporting system integrations and API-based solutions.
- Exposure to Cloud-based platforms and environments.
- Familiarity with reporting, analytics, or data migration efforts.
- Solid understanding of regulatory, audit, or compliance frameworks.
