Summary

A globally leading consumer device company based in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Supply Chain Program Specialist to join their team. The role will contribute to Supply Chain Residual Emissions Carbon Credits program and provide day-to-day programmatic support, with a focus on supplier engagement, education, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of corporate professional experience preferred, though years of experience are flexible based on capabilities.
  • Strong communication, organization, and supplier engagement skills are considered core competencies.
  • General understanding of decarbonization and carbon markets.
  • Familiarity with carbon credits, including:
    • Carbon credit terminology (e.g., vintage).
    • Common project types.
    • Certification bodies.
    • How carbon credits are bought and sold.
  • Candidates do not need deep expertise in carbon credit quality criteria, as Apple has a dedicated carbon markets team for that work.
  • Ability to synthesize feedback and create educational resources based on supplier needs.

Preferred Backgrounds

  • Carbon markets (trading, assessment, or standards organizations).
  • Climate consulting.
  • General sustainability roles with supplier-facing responsibilities.
  • Industrial decarbonization experience.
  • Familiarity with:

    • Avoidance credits.
    • Forestry-related projects.
    • Carbon removal projects.
    • FSC certifications.
  • Energy and utilities experience may provide useful context, but expertise focused specifically on energy and electricity markets is less relevant.
  • Candidates should demonstrate professionalism when engaging with suppliers.
  • The role is execution-focused rather than strategy-focused, centered on supplier communication, education, and operational support.
