Summary

Role: Sr. EDI Developer
Location: Remote (USA)
Duration: 10 Months

Must-Have Requirements 

  • 10–15 years of overall IT experience (client preference).
  • 8–10+ years of hands-on experience with IBM Sterling B2B Integrator (SI) v5.2.6 or higher.
  • Strong Business Process (BPML) development experience in IBM Sterling.
    • Important: The client is looking for developers who can build and design business processes—not candidates who only create EDI maps.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and supporting EDI solutions using IBM Sterling Integrator.
  • Strong experience with EDI map development for:
    • ANSI X12
    • EDIFACT
    • XML
    • cXML
    • CSV
    • Flat Files
    • JSON
  • Experience with communication protocols:
    • AS2
    • FTP
    • SFTP
    • VAN
  • Strong SQL/DB2 experience.
  • Experience with:
    • XML
    • XSLT
    • Web Services
    • REST/SOAP APIs
  • Strong understanding of EDI architecture, including:
    • Security and encryption
    • Authentication and authorization
    • Logging and monitoring
    • Scalability and clustering
    • High availability
    • Traffic management/throttling

Preferred Qualifications

  • Supply chain or logistics industry experience.
  • Experience leading technical execution of EDI integration projects.
  • Experience mentoring junior developers and conducting code reviews.
  • Strong troubleshooting and production support experience.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently in global teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement EDI integrations using IBM Sterling Integrator.
  • Build and maintain complex Business Processes (BPML).
  • Develop and support EDI maps and integrations.
  • Lead technical execution of integration and API projects.
  • Translate solution designs into production-ready implementations.
  • Perform code reviews and mentor junior developers.
  • Troubleshoot complex integration and production issues.
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Participate in testing, defect resolution, and deployment activities.
  • Collaborate with globally distributed development teams.
